Honey Hive is inspired by the hierarchical system and natural elements of bees. The dress experiments with the paradox of noble power and nature, within our modern human society. The draped cowl neckline, stylized stand collar, and skirt overlay suggest regality. This is also portrayed in the bodice’s luxuriously smooth silk crepe texture. The fabric of the skirt and yoke, silk tussa, offers an organic texture comparable to the exterior of a beehive. The color of the bodice and the transparent silk organza pieces are a creamy golden orange, similar to the color of whipped honey.

With increasing pressures of climate change, will our world be able to turn around the paradox of power and nature?  Can we learn to live like the bees, living in unison with our world rather than carelessly stripping the land of its beauty for human comfort? Can we save the bees by living like them?
